Blessings

We have a pretty cool testimony to the goodness of God. For those of you who don't know, David and I have my parents and my brother Josh staying with us. They are in a transition period in their life. They just sold their house and God is doing some great things in their ministry. Of course, when you have extra adults living in the house some of the bills go up. We hadn't mentioned to anyone but the Lord a need of grocery money. In fact I don't even know if I directly or formally mentioned it to God. I was just believing his word that he provides all our needs according to his riches. I know he is always faithful, and I didn't really feel a need to panic, or be worried. He knew of the need.

The other day we got this card in the mail. It was sent from the Guthrie family at our address to the Guthrie family at our address. We were a little puzzled and knew we didn't send ourselves anything:). Inside there was an amazing card just stating some great proclamations the Lord speaks over us as his children and they were exactly what we needed to hear. Inside the card was a grocery card to our favorite place, Farm Fresh, God had blessed us with a significant amount of money to put towards our groceries this month. It is amazing how good our God is. The most incredible thing to me is that God was thinking of us. We were on his mind and that is the greater blessing. I needed to know the thoughts my God has towards me and he made them very clear by his blessing.

If the person who sent this to us reads my blog. I want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being obedient to God. It was so timely and an amazing gift and blessing. Thank you for the card it was exactly what we needed to hear. I pray God returns the blessing to you in an even greater capacity.

Thank you Lord!!!!

Pictures of the boys!

I rarely get the kids in one spot to take their pictures. I try, but with their ages being 3, 2, and 1 it is hard to get them to stay in one place to even eat, let alone pose for a picture:). Well, I decided to take matters into my own hands and stick them all in Dawson's crib and see what came of it. So here they are:)

My Swee-wee:):)

The other night david had put Noah to bed. After bed time prayers and some special Daddy time, daddy was leaving the room and said "good night sweetie". Noah's reply was "nigh-nights swee-wee". I thought it was so cute. Noah certainly is a swee-wee:):).Swee-wee

I've been tagged (Grrr)

I was tagged by my illustrious wife for this book meme. She explained it as a kind of on-line game of tag. One person posts questions and answers them, they then “tag” the next person who is “it.” Here’s what I've been coerced to do:

1) Grab the book closest to you.
2) Open to page 123, go down to the fourth sentence.
3) Post the text of the following 3 sentences.
4) Name the author and book title.
5) Tag three people to do the same.

"Just let me stick to what I'm good at, yeah?" muttered Zaphod, and rolled away from the voice back to sleep.

"Do you want me to kick you?" said Ford.

"Would it give you a lot of pleasure?" said Zaphod, blearily.

My closest two books were a bible and a Hebrew-English interlinear Old-Testament. I figured that wouldn't be a good choice because it seems that most people who have don't this have had the same closest book.

My THIRD closest was The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide, by Douglas Adams. This is a collection of a number of books. Page 123 is part of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

The whole tag three people thing makes me squirm.

I was tagged by Ashleigh for this book meme. Ashleigh explained it as a kind of on-line game of tag. One person posts questions and answers them, they then “tag” the next person who is “it.” Here’s what you’re supposed to do:

1) Grab the book closest to you.
2) Open to page 123, go down to the fourth sentence.
3) Post the text of the following 3 sentences.
4) Name the author and book title.
5) Tag three people to do the same.

"Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her." (Luke 10:38-42) Okay, we've all heard the story.

Maybe Grandpa has popcorn...

Today my son Caleb came to me and we had this conversation:

(note: English translations in parentheses.)

"I nee nack." (I need a snack)

"Okay Caleb, what do you want?"

"Papoo" (Microwave popcorn)

"Buddy, we don't have any popcorn. All gone. Do you want pretzels?"

"No! I nee Papoo."

"Popcorn's all gone. Do you want an apple?"

"No...," caleb said and turned to my father-in-law, who was also sitting in the room, and said, "Grancaw, I nee nack."

Grancaw, as he puts it, then offered Caleb an apple, and he said "okay." Grandpa must have better apples than Daddy.

February 13th

Lilypie Expecting a baby Ticker

I am excited, David and I get to find out if the baby is a boy or a girl come February 13th. I thought I wanted a girl, and then I thought it would be nice to have another boy. Now I just pray for a healthy baby. Due to all my health problems we have been discussing and praying about this being our last physical baby, meaning we will probably adopt again later on down the road but I will be done giving birth. My heart aches over the thought of not being able to bear any more children. My heart has always been, ever since I was little, to have as many babies as God would bless me with. Since I am unable to take any birth control, and my health is not in good condition, I feel like it would be wise to stop and begin to focus on my health. Having a lot of kids is pointless if I am unable to be the mother that I know God has called me to be, and the mom I so desire to be. If I am healthy then I can focus on caring for my kids 100%. Anyway, I said all that to say, if I am having a girl then it will make the decision very easy to be done. If I am having a baby boy then I think I will always wonder if the girl would have come next. This is something I know God is in control of so he will give me peace to make whatever decision is necessary .

My mid-wife told me the other day that older siblings are usually right when it comes to gender prediction. Caleb, my oldest, who is only three seems to call the baby Sadie. That will be the name if it is a girl. I didn't really push to tell him the boy name because I thought it was so cute he called the baby by the girl name we picked. So when my midwife heard that, she said he is probably right. So of course I went home and thought that I should ask him to see what he says. He really doesn't understand the difference between girl and boy yet, and he doesn't know how to tell the difference between girl names and boys names. When I got home I asked him "Caleb, is mommy's baby a boy or a girl?" He answered "Baby-a-girr" Which girr is how he says girl since he can't say his "L's". Now he goes around all day saying "baby-a-girr". I am so excited and hope he is being prophetic:):). He also has been rubbing my belly and telling the baby he is the big "brubber" (brother). He kisses the baby all the time and tells me "Baby is peep" which means baby is sleep since he can't say his "S's" either :). It is such a joy to have this new one coming and I am enjoying the fact that Caleb is excited.

On a different note. I have been tagged (quite a few days ago) by Ashleigh to do this cool book meme thing. I am going to post in the morning with my entry. I am so sorry Ashleigh for not doing it sooner.:)

A family affair

David and I decided to start a blog together. I hope this turns out to be pretty cool. Neither one of us post very often on our individual ones, so we thought if we did it together we might be motivated to do it more often, or...... it may just appear we post more often since there will two of us doing it:):) We will stop writing in our other ones all together. However, we are unable to import all of our old writings into this one because of a new upgrade that Blogger did:(:(. Anyway, this will be a fresh start!!

Be patient with us as we learn to navigate through this new blog. It will be under construction for a while I am sure.
