Parental Terms #1: Cake
A normal cake is a desert item made with flour, eggs, sugar, etc. The connotation remains the same when speaking to the children, but has a much broader definition that has been expanded to refer to muffins, whole-grain cinnamon bread, banana bread, and anything else that the three little boys will associate with cake proper. Essentially, they will not eat muffins. Muffins are yucky, but cake is wonderful. Cake is worth eating regardless of hunger. Cake inspires one to break out in song. So, when Sarah bakes blueberry muffins, we offer the boys cake. They called it cake first, so we're just doing our best to communicate. We are by no means tricking our children in to eating something. No really. Honest.

Organize
I have decided that since I have four kids and everything feels upside down that it is time to ORGANIZE! I have set some goals and written a schedule. Today starts a new beginning in our house. David and I have also decided to switch some rooms around in our house that will help in our journey to organize. I am very excited b/c along with this change I am also adding my start of loosing weight. Big undertaking I know. I feel grace from the Lord and I know with his help these changes can work. I am very excited and will keep you guys updated on how well this schedule thing works for me and my family. On a side note please keep me in prayer, as most of you know I stay sick from Fibromyalgia very often. It affects me everyday, and I am trusting the Lord for a healing. In the mean time I am doing what I can to keep myself functioning. The reason this schedule is such a big deal to me is that my health really hinders me from getting up in the early morning and going all day. Like I said before though, I feel grace from God to do this and I know he wants me to be a functioning mom and wife, and that is my biggest desire. I would love the prayer support for strength and grace.
